Prep tennis: Findlay tops Irish for TRAC victory

Max MacDonald and Jake Elbin posted two-set victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, and Findlay High swept both doubles matches for a 4-1 Three Rivers Athletic Conference win against Toledo Central Catholic on Thursday at the FHS Courts.
MacDonald won a tight first set 7-5 against London Klucas, but bounced back with a 6-1 showing in the second set to take the match.
Elbin had no trouble dispatching Drew Dominiak in two sets, 6-0, 6-2.
Findlay’s Ian Laird and Brent Gorman made quick work of Alex Mossing and Rigby Crawford at No. 1 doubles. The Trojan duo rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 decision.
Fellow teammates Hyunchul Lee and Logan Sullivan downed John Villaflor and Jacob Scally 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles for Findlay’s final win of the day.
Central Catholic (3-2, 1-1 TRAC) earned its lone victory at No. 1 singles when Dugan Delp topped Reid Teatsorth 6-3, 6-3.
Findlay (3-2, 1-1 TRAC) will be back in action Saturday as the Trojans host Ottawa Hills at the FHS Courts.
