Prep baseball: Trojans take a pair from Toledo Bowsher

FINDLAY — Findlay got dominating pitching performances from Nolan Rodman and Jackson Geyer as the Trojans swept a doubleheader against Toledo Bowsher on Saturday.
Rodman (1-0) allowed three hits in six scoreless innings in the first game, walking five and striking out five. He also ripped two singles and had an RBI at the plate.
Toledo Bowsher (3-3) scored three runs in the top of the seventh, but the Trojans got out of a bases-loaded jam to get the win.
Geyer struck out three and allowed just one hit in his five innings pitched in the second game. Ryan Golden had a double and RBI.

ARLINGTON — Jordan Freed recorded 12 strikeouts and issued only one walk to pick up his first victory of the season in Arlington’s 7-1 win against Lima Central Catholic on Saturday.
John Solt and Tyler Richards each singled and doubled, while Logan Speyer singled twice and drove in a run and Nick Affholder added a single and an RBI for the Red Devils (5-2).
Colin Stolly hit a pair of singles to lead LCC.

Jared Neiling allowed one earned run in 21/3 innings and added three singles and an RBI at the plate as Liberty-Benton edged Bluffton 3-2 in eight innings of a nonleague contest on Saturday.
Alex Harter scored the winning run in extras to keep the Eagles perfect on the season at 5-0.
Brett Rumer doubled and drove in a run, Chris McClain contributed a single and an RBI and Zak Kuhlman had two singles for Bluffton (4-4).

VANLUE — Vanlue fell twice in Saturday’s nonconference triangular with Tiffin Calvert and Northwood.
The Wildcats fell behind 8-0 before scoring three runs in the seventh in an 8-3 loss to the Senecas. Vanlue was limited to one hit in a 1-0 loss to Northwood.
Calvert finished off a sweep with a 6-0 win over Northwood.

LEIPSIC — Gavin Cupp crushed a 2-run home run in the fifth inning of Leipsic’s 8-0 win over Hicksville in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday.
Grant Rader picked up his first win of the year on the mound for Leipsic (2-5), and Jordan Berger doubled, singled and drove in two runs for the Vikings.
Hicksville (2-4) took the first game, 10-2, after scoring five runs in both the sixth and seventh innings. Jarin Jasso had a home run and two RBIs, and Dakato Harvey ripped three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs.
