Prep baseball: Upper gets NCC victory over Riverdale

UPPER SANDUSKY — Andre Myers doubled and drove in two runs as Upper Sandusky racked up 10 hits in a 7-5 North Central Conference win against Riverdale on Monday.
Sophomore pitchers Cody Gabriel and Carson Mittermaier combined to strike out 16 Riverdale batters.
Gabriel worked five innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits — all singles — while striking out 10 and walking four. Mittermaier pitched two hitless innings, striking out six.
Trey Clark (2B, 1B, RBI), Sam Plott (2-1B, RBI) and Mittermaier (2-1B, RBI) had two hits each for Rams (5-3, 2-0 NCC).
One of the four hits by Riverdale (1-6, 1-2) was an RBI single by Lane Stewart.

MILLER CITY — Ross Lehman limited Fort Jennings to three hits and one run and Miller City finally broke lose in the sixth inning as the Wildcats opened Putnam County League baseball play with a 7-1 win on Monday.
Jackson Lammers (1B, 2B) and Hunter Berner (2-1B) had two hits each and Adam Niese had a two-run single.
Miller City led just 2-1 before chalking up five runs in the bottom of the sixth.

HAMLER — Patrick Henry turned a 4-2 deficit into a 6-4 lead with four runs in the bottom of the fourth en route to a 7-5 Northwest Ohio Athletic League win against Archbold on Monday.
The Patriots (6-3, 2-0 NWOAL) got a single and two RBIs from Derek Kolpien, Jake Montana singled and drove in a run and Kyler Seemann added two singles.
Tyson Schnitkey had a pair of singles and two RBIs for the Blue Streaks (5-3, 1-1).

HAVILAND — Matt Warnecke pitched a two-hitter and struck out seven and lined a single and a double at the plate as Ottawa-Glandorf dropped Wayne Trace 14-1 in nonleague action on Monday.
Tyler Zender singled three times and drove in four runs, Brad Croy added two singles, a double and two RBIs and Austin Williams doubled and drove in a pair of runs for the Titans (5-3).
Denver Burkley took the loss for the Raiders (4-2).

KALIDA — Gaige Seffernick ripped three singles and Ben Wrasman hit a triple and drove in three runs to lead Delphos St. John’s over Kalida 10-8 in nonleague baseball action on Monday.
T.J. Hoersten earned the win on the mound for the Blue Jays (1-5), and he had a two-run single.
Colton Farrell had two singles for Kalida (1-6), while Brent Hovest and Jeffrey Knueve each singled and had an RBI.
