LEIPSIC — Leipsic matched Miller City’s small rally in the seventh inning. But the Vikings could not match the Wildcats’ big rally in the eighth in dropping a 9-3 Putnam County League softball contest on Monday.
Miller City went up 3-1 with a two-spot in the top of the seventh inning. Leipsic tied it in the bottom of the inning, but Miller City pushed six runs across in the top of the eighth to lock it up.
Alissa Schnipke, Morgan Inkrott and Cassie Niese all had two hits for Miller City (2-2, 1-0 PCL). Liz Schimmoeller doubled in a run and Janke VanWezel and Kylee Ricker had RBI singles. Ricker (1-1) also got the win, striking out 10 and allowing seven hits in an eight-inning complete game effort.
Emily Ellerbrock went 4 for 4 and drove in two runs for Leipsic (1-6, 1-1 PCL). Maddie Steffan (1B, 3B) and Rebecca Snyder (2-1B) added two hits each for the Vikings.

HAMLER — Archbold broke a 1-1 tie with a single run in the fourth inning and added three more in the top of the sixth as the Blue Streaks’ softball team pushed its unbeaten record to 11-0 on MOnday with a 6-1 Northwest Ohio Athletic League win at Patrick Henry.
Paige Peterson, Natalie Beck, Jen Gerken and Desi Newman had two each for Archbold (11-0, 3-0 NWOAL), with Peterson and Beck driving in two runs each.
Natalie Herder and Alexis Miller each recorded a single and a double and Kristin Bostelman notched two singles for Patrick Henry (6-2, 0-2 NWOAL).
