Prep Baseball: Findlay Golden in win over Whitmer

TOLEDO — Ryan Golden delivered a clutch two-run first-inning triple and knocked in four runs overall and Findlay got another strong pitching effort from Chandler Stillings in posting a 6-1 Three Rivers Athletic Conference victory at Toledo Whitmer on Friday.
The win was Findlay’s seventh straight, ninth in the last 11 games and boosted the Trojans to 11-6 overall and 6-1 in the TRAC. Findlay and Toledo Central Catholic (11-4, 5-1) trail only Toledo St. John’s (9-1, 4-0) in the league standings.

Stillings allowed seven hits, three of them by Whitmer leadoff hitter Anthony Okdie.
Michael Roche and Austin Cameron had two hits each for Findlay. Both scored in the fourth inning when Golden ripped a shot to third that was ruled an error.
