College Track: Showman sets UF record in heptathlon

HILLSDALE, Mich. — Pam Showman led the University of Findlay women’s outdoor track and field team by placing first in the heptathlon with a school-record point total of 4,952, which was also a NCAA provisional qualifying total, at the Hillsdale Classic on Thursday.
Lydia Guagenti (Bluffon) took second in the heptathlon with a NCAA provisional mark of 4,510 and also had a provisional mark in the high jump portion of the event at 5-7¼.
Maud Sanmiquel was first in the 400 hurdles with an NCAA provisional time of 1:01.21 and teamed with Kadesha Roberts, Adrianna Powell-Lawrence and Shelby Stump (Hardin Northern) to take third in the 1,600 relay at 3:47.85. The time in the relay race was also a provisional mark.
Erika King took fourth in the hammer throw with a provisional toss of 174-8, while Liberty-Benton graduate Alex DeVincentis was fifth in the discus with provisional toss of 151-0.
For the men’s team, Demorrio Leggett won the triple jump with a provisional mark of 48-10¼, while Ben Hahler was second in both the shot put and discus. He scored a provisional mark of 54-1 in the shot put and threw 160-6 in the discus.
Marcus Vicars had a provisional mark in the hammer throw by placing third with a toss of 182-10, while Alexander Zolotoglavyy was third in the long jump at 23-04 and Parker Schroeder (Columbus Grove) was third in the discus at 157-0.
