Prep tennis: Findlay edges LCC

LIMA — Findlay swept the singles matches and that proved to be just enough for the Trojans to edge Lima Central Catholic 3-2 on Tuesday in a nonleague boys tennis match at the Westwood Tennis Center.
Jake Elbin nailed down Findlay’s 14th win in 17 matches when he outlasted Troy Hile 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Reid Teatsorth had already beaten Pierre Desprat 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, and Max MacDonald had taken care of LCC’s Spencer Collins 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2.
LCC (1-2) took both doubles matches, with Zach Schroeder and Dylan Niese (No. 1) beating Ian Laird and Brent Gorman 6-1, 6-2 and Luke Buettner and Logan Korzan (No. 2) rallying for a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 decision over Hyunchul Lee and Logan Sullivan.
Findlay completes regular-season play at Sylvania Northview today, then will host Division I sectional tournament competition Thursday at the FHS Courts.
