McGUFFEY — Chad Baker threw a six-inning no-hitter and Arcadia run-ruled Upper Scioto Valley with a 5-run sixth inning as the Redskins rolled into the district semifinals with a 14-0 romp over the Rams in a Division IV sectional baseball final on Wednesday.
Baker, a 6-foot-4 sophomore lefty, struck out 10 in upping his record to 3-4 and earning Arcadia, 6-13 and the No. 7-seeded team in the district field, a spot opposite top-seeded McComb (19-3) in
Wednesday’s 4:15 p.m. district opener at Findlay High School. Arlington will face either North Baltimore or Carey in the 6:30 p.m. second semifinal.
Hayden Ramsey lined three singles and drove in two runs to lead Arcadia’s offense. Myles Monday and Bobby Vera added two hits each for the Redskins, who also capitalized on six USV errors.

ARLINGTON — Arlington’s Tyler Richards gave up just one hit in five innings and the Red Devils used two big innings to run rule Cory-Rawson 11-1 on Wednesday in a Division IV sectional baseball final.
Nick Affholder and Kyle McDowell had two hits each, John Solt and Nathan Insley had RBI doubles and Tyler Starr and Justin Riced singled home runs. The Red Devils, 16-5 and headed for Wednesday’s 6:30 p.m. district opener at Findlay High against either North Baltimore or Carey, went ahead with four runs in the bottom of the second inning and blew it pen with a 5-run rally in the fourth.
Matthew Alpsach had the lone hit for Cory-Rawson (3-17).

PANDORA — Holgate led 8-0 before Pandora-Gilboa even came to bat as the Tigers blitzed P-G 10-0 in a Division IV sectional baseball final.
Jarrod Stober (1B, 2B) and Serapio Gonzales (2-1B) had four of Holgate’s nine total hits. The Tigers’ offense benefited from four walks and four P-G errors.
Holgate also got a solid pitching effort from Everett Klingshirn, who limited Pandora-Gilboa to four hits and struck out nine.
Jared Tousley doubled for one of P-G’s four hits. The Rockets fell to 10-12.
Holgate, seeded fifth among the 12 teams in its district, will face either top-seeded Patrick Henry or No. 10 Wayne Trace Wednesday in the district semifinals at Elida’s Ed Sandy Field.

BLOOMDALE — Jon Thomas allowed just five hits and struck out eight batters while pitching a complete game Wednesday to lead Otsego to a 5-0 Northern Buckeye Conference win over Elmwood.
Trent Soto doubled, singled and drove in a run, while Jon Brown singled twice and plated another run for the Knights (10-13 overall, 7-3 NBC).
Jacob Firsdon and Tayte Lentz each doubled for the Royals (9-12, 3-5).
Losing pitcher Brandon Pennington struck out six and walked six in six innings.
