BLOOMDALE — Miranda Benschoter tossed five innings of one-hit ball and recorded eight strikeouts, while also adding a double, a single and six RBIs at the plate as Elmwood pounded Fostoria 11-0 in Northern Buckeye Conference action Tuesday.
The game was scoreless heading into the bottom of the third inning, but the Royals (19-4, 11-1 NBC) plated 10 runs in the frame to break the game open.
Chelsie Schmitz finished with a single and two RBIs, Kristi Reiser notched a double and an RBI and Madison Arnold had a single and drove in a run for Elmwood.
Alexus Smith doubled to post the lone hit for Fostoria (5-18, 0-10).

RAWSON — Van Buren’s Nichole Miller and Kila Fultz combined on a three-hit shutout and struck out 13 batters as the Black Knights’ softball team wrapped up Blanchard Valley Conference play on Tuesday with an 11-0 win over Cory-Rawson.
Miller allowed one hit and struck out eight in four innings work. Fultz gave up two hits and fanned five.
Miller (1B) and Erin Neall (2-1B) drove in three runs each and Brylie Rampe had a 2-run double for Van Buren (14-12, 7-2 BVC). The Black Knights will face North Baltimore today at 5 p.m. in a Division IV district semifinal at Elida.
The Ricksecker sisters accounted for Cory-Rawson’s three hits. Amie Ricksecker had two base hits and Mikaela Ricksecker tripled for the Hornets (5-15, 2-7 BVC).

FOSTORIA — Old Fort’s Jordan Magers limited Fostoria St. Wendelin to one run on five hits and delivered a game-breaking two-run triple of her own in leading the Stockaders to a 4-1 Midland Athletic League softball win on Tuesday.
Magers added a base hit to her triple and Hali Kimmet had an RBI single for Old Fort. The Stockaders (12-11, 4-5 MAL) took a 4-0 lead thanks to 2-run rallies in the first and fourth innings.
Sammi Digby (2-1B, 2B) had three of St. Wendelin’s five hits, and drove in the lone run for the Mohawks (10-13, 4-6 MAL).

LIMA — Columbus Grove’s last at bat rally fell short as the Bulldogs dropped a 6-4 decision to Lima Bath in the Division III district semifinals at Lima Bath on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs (14-9) trailed by two and left a pair of runners in scoring position as the game ended.
Fairview (21-2), the top seed in the district, advances to take on the winner of today’s district final featuring Ottawa-Glandorf (16-4) and Parkway (13-13).
