Prep tennis: Trojans’ Teatsorth qualifies for state

BOWLING GREEN — Findlay High School tennis player Reid Teatsorth advanced to the Division-I state tennis tournament with a runner-up finish in the Northwest district tournament Saturday at Bowling Green State University’s Keefe Courts.
Teatsorth dominated Perrysburg junior Troy Weider 6-1, 6-0 in the semifinals to guarantee a spot in the state tournament, as the top two singles players qualify. However, Toledo Central Catholic’s Dugan Delp won the district crown with a 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 win over the Findlay junior.
Delp also knocked off Teatsworth in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference championships at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-4 on May 3.
The state tournament will be played at the Ohio State University Outdoor Varsity Prep Boys Tennis Courts, with first round and quarterfinal action on Friday. The semifinals and championship will be on Saturday.
