Youth baseball: Lions Club wins Major League tournament

Kyle Silvers collected three base hits and four of his teammates had two each in leading Lions Club to a 19-5 win over Impact Credit Union on Sunday in the championship game of the Findlay Youth Baseball Major League tournament at Emory Adams Park.

Brandon Hamilton, Seth Courtney, Carter Brand and Andrew Holman added two singles each for Lions Club, which scored eight runs in the top of the seventh inning and took advantage of nine walks in the game.

Holman pitched the first four innings and Espyn Taylor the final three. The two combined for eight strikeouts.
Lions Club finished the season at 10-4. Impact Credit Union went 3-2 in the tournament and is 9-8.

Jared Treft singled twice and scored two runs for Impact Credit Union. Michael Leonard doubled in a run and Loren Couch and Omar Bodnarik had RBI singles.
