Legion baseball: Findlay pummels Bucyrus

BUCYRUS — Ross Adolph, Jared Neiling and Nick Bowden drove in three runs each and Findlay’s Post 3 American Legion team scored in every inning in pummeling Bucyrus 18-6 in Buckeye American Legion League play on Monday.

The win clinched a third straight regular season championship for Findlay, 17-2 overall and 8-0 in BALL play with two league games left. Bucyrus entered Monday’s game with two league losses.

Neiling banged out four base hits. Adolph and Bowden drove in their three runs with a double and two singles each.

Garrett Sendelbach had three hits and Chris Hampton (2 RBI) and Grant Akin had two each. Isaac Sexton added a two-run double for Post 3, which led 5-3 after three innings, scored five times in the top of the fifth inning after Bucyrus trimmed the deficit to 7-6, and capped the win with a four-spot in the seventh.

Sean Watson went the first three inning to earn his first win of the season. Jameson Jacobs also went three innings for Findlay, and Bowden finished up.

Austin Lutz, Chase Baker and Ridge Jackson all had two hits for Bucyrus.
Findlay faces Masssillon (3:30 p.m.) and Cambridge (6 p.m.) on Friday in the first round of the Don Coss

Tournament in Cambridge. Post 3 then faces St. Clairsville (2:30 p.m.) and Parkersburg (5 p.m.) on Saturday.
