CAMBRIDGE — Findlay Post 3 split a pair of games Friday, the opening day of the 22nd annual Don Coss Tournament.
Post 3 recorded a 10-0 victory in five innings against Massillon in its first game before dropping a 7-2 decision to host Cambridge in the nightcap.
Findlay (18-2) jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings in its opener and Garret Sendelbach took care of the Massillon bats en route to improving his record on the mound to 3-0.
Nolan Rodman singled three times and drove in three runs, Jared Neiling added a double, a single and two RBIs, and Grant Aiken finished with a pair of singles and an RBI.
In the second game, the roles were reversed as Post 3 fell behind 4-0 to Cambridge after two innings and never recovered.
Ross Adolph (2-1B, RBI) and Sendelbach (2-1B) combined to produce four of Findlay’s seven hits in the loss, which also saw the team commit three errors.
Post 3 will be return to tournament action today with a contest against St. Clairsville at 2:30 p.m., followed by a matchup with Parkersburg at 5 p.m.
