HAMLER — Ottawa-Glandorf and Miller City will clash today at 6 p.m. at Patrick Henry’s Garrold Parrot Field for the District 2 championship and a bid to the 2014 ACME state baseball tournament.
Miller City has already beaten O-G twice in tournament play, 11-9 last Tuesday and 20-14 on Wednesday in sectional games. The top two teams in each sectional advance to the district, however, and O-G avenged those losses with a 7-6 win over Miller City in Sunday’s winners bracket final. That set up today’s 6 p.m. district final contest, with a second game, if needed to be played Tuesday at 6 p.m.
In Saturday’s District 2 openers, Miller City blanked Patrick Henry 9-0 and Ottawa-Glandorf beat Pettisville 7-5. Pettisville beat Patrick Henry 13-4 on Sunday to oust the Patriots from double-elimination tournament.
Following its loss to Ottawa-Glandorf, Miller City then beat Pettisville 9-0 to set up an all-Putnam County district final rematch with O-G.
