URBANA — Former Ottawa-Glandorf basketball standout Haley Ducey was named the head women’s basketball coach at Urbana University on Tuesday.

Ducey, a 2007 O-G graduate, played for the Blue Knights in college and averaged 9.2 points per game in 82 games after missing her freshman season with a knee injury.

She holds the Urbana school record for career free throw percentage (89.2 percent), which includes going 50-54 (92.6 percent) in the 2008-2009 season.

She is also eighth in school history in career 3-point shooting (33.8 percent) and 13th in career assists (215).

At O-G, she started 72 straight games, averaged 12.4 points per game and earned all-Ohio special mention honors in Division-II in 2007.

Ducey was part of the Blue Knights’ coaching staff as a graduate assistant after finishing her playing career in 2011.

She earned a win as an interim head coach on Dec. 13, 2011 (67-57 over Salem International University).
