Legion Baseball: Five errors doom Post 3 vs. Toledo

Five errors were too much for Findlay’s American Legion baseball team to overcome as Post 3 dropped a 9-3 decision to Toledo in an American Legion baseball district tournament game at Flag City Memorial Field Thursday night.

Findlay (25-6) will take on Ottawa, a 14-1 winner over Maumee Thursday night, in a loser’s bracket game tonight at 7 p.m. back at Findlay High School.

Findlay’s Jared Neiling suffered his first loss of the season as he fell to 6-1. He allowed seven runs, four earned with no walks and three strikeouts. Malachi Abbott finished up on the mound for Findlay.

Nolan Rodman led Post 3 at the plate with a pair of singles. Isaac Sexton doubled and Chris Hampton and Grant Akin both added RBI singles for Findlay.

Kam Weber was 5-for-5 with a triple, double and a pair of RBIs to lead Toledo.
