Auto racing: Sprint races tighten up at Attica

ATTICA — The Kistler Racing Products Fremont Attica Sprint Title Championship for the 410 sprints and JLH General Contractor FAST Championship for the 305 sprints is coming right down to the wire after Friday’s performances at Attica Raceway Park.
Castalia’s Caleb Griffith passed race leader Greg Wilson on the last lap to score his first O’Reilly Auto Parts 410 sprint win at Attica Friday.
The win moved Griffith into second in the $10,000-to-win FAST points with a handful of events left in 2014. Chris Andrews came into the night leading the FAST and Attica points and stormed from his 12th starting spot for a third-place finish to maintain the point leads but by just 14 points over Griffith.
Three Wood County racers drove to victory Friday night.
Wayne’s Jeff Babcock won a tight battle in the Summit Racing Equipment UMP Late Model race.
Bradner’s Nate Dussel took the Foster’s Auto Body 305 Sprint win and Risingsun’s Shawn Valenti captured the Fremont Fence Dirt Truck race.
