FOSTORIA — Bryce Gorrell earned tournament medalist honors for the second straight day as he helped Hopewell-Loudon finish third in Friday’s Lakota Invitational at Loudon Meadows Golf Club.
Coming off a school-record 66 at Thursday’s Seneca East Invitational, Gorrell shot a 73 to edge Fostoria St. Wendelin’s Peter Campbell and Lake’s Ian Johnson by one stroke.
Lake managed to win the team title with 327 strokes. Mohawk edged Hopewell-Loudon 337-339 for second place. St. Wendelin (364), Carey (374), New Riegel (378) and North Baltimore (380) finished in eighth through 11th place respectively. Fostoria was 14th with a 401.
Brayden Dunlap (77) and Chet Margraf (78) gave Mohawk a solid 1-2 punch. Woodmore’s Alex Gedert was the only other golfer to finish with a sub-80 round as he shot a 76.

Kalida wins on tiebreaker
CELINA — In a fifth-man tiebreaker, Kalida edged Lima Bath for the team championship Friday at the Celina Invitational at Fox’s Den Golf Course.
Kalida, led by Jeff Knueve’s 76, and Bath each scored a 322. Liberty-Benton (336) was sixth, Findlay (375) 13th and Ottawa-Glandorf (402) 18th in the 20-team tournament.
Zach Erhart shot 78, and Evan Recker and Collin Nartker each carded an 84 for Kalida. Trent Siebeneck’s 86 was eight strokes better than Bath’s fifth man to break the tie for the team title.
Elliott Logsdon led Liberty-Benton with an 81. Matt Munoz shot a 91 to pace Findlay, while Ottawa-Glandorf was led by Eric Parys with a 90.
The tournament medalist was Wapakoneta’s Drew Wayman with a 72. Other golfers on the all-tournament team were St. Marys Memorial’s Carter Bowman (73), Lima Bath’s Spencer Stubbs (74), Kalida’s Knueve and Kenton’s Anthony McKee (76).
