Boys soccer: Miller nets four goals for Upper Sandusky

KENTON — Upper Sandusky’s Brandon Miller scored four goals as the Rams improved to 3-0 with a 6-0 nonconference boys soccer win at Kenton on Saturday.

Cameron Brady and Sam Duress also scored for the Rams while Taylor Emerick and Aaron Pirc both had two assists.

Upper Sandusky had an 11-3 edge in shots. Goalkeeper Clay Musgrave recorded the shutout with three saves. Will Hoppe had five saves for Kenton (1-1-2).


ELIDA — Bluffton and Fort Jennings played to a 1-1 tie at halftime, but Austin Wisner scored a pair of goals less than six minutes apart in the second half to give the Musketeers a 3-1 victory in the consolation game at the Elida Fall Classic on Saturday.

Mark Metzger scored just 3:15 into the match to put Fort Jennings (1-1) ahead 1-0, but Bluffton’s Cole Harlow answered with a goal of his own at the 14:35 mark.

Ryan Koester made four saves for the Musketeers and Kyle Hellman added two. Joe Schriner saved two shots for the Pirates (0-1-2).

Elida won the tournament with a penalty kick shootout against Ottoville. The two teams were tied 1-1 after regulations and were scoreless through two overtime periods. Elida (1-0-1) recorded the win when it topped the Big Green (1-0-2) in a second set of PKs.

RAWSON — Eric Ritter and Zach Roebke scored three goals each and Kyle Sands had two as Cory-Rawson stung Tiffin Calvert 9-2 in nonconference action.

Jacob Edwards also scored for Cory-Rawson (1-1), which jumped out to a 4-0 first-half lead. The Hornets outshot the Senecas 14-8.

Drew Ronski and Austin Burgess each scored a goal for Tiffin Calvert.

SPENCERVILLE — Spencerville’s David Wisher scored three goals to power the Bearcats past Ada 6-4 in a nonconference match.

Cole East scored three goals for Ada (0-3).
