Prep volleyball: Arlington wins Parkway title

ROCKFORD — A 25-18, 17-25, 25-12 victory over Parkway completed a perfect day for the Arlington volleyball team Saturday as the Red Devils went 3-0 at the Parkway Invitational.
Arlington (6-0) also defeated Riverside 25-12, 25-20 and Elida 25-13, 25-12.
Lauren Willow led the attack with 27 kills on the day on 38 of 38 hitting. Britnee Johnson had 22 kills and Lindsay Werst 19. Whitney Dodds had 43 digs, and Shayna Helms (102 of 103 setting) 58 assists and four aces.

MCCOMB — Jenna Huffman tallied 22 kills, six digs, four aces and two solo blocks as McComb rolled past Elmwood 25-14, 25-21, 25-11 in nonconference volleyball action Saturday.
Loryn Huffman handed out 40 assists to go with three kills and three aces, Molly Leppelmeier notched seven kills and a solo block and Brittany Harden added five digs for the Panthers (3-0).
Elmwood (2-1) was led by Jaela Kynard’s nine kills and six digs. Jennah Wilson dished out 20 assists, Jasmine Marsh recorded five kills and seven digs and Sarah Wilson contributed 11 digs.

NORTH ROBINSON — Kara Scherger ripped 19 kills Saturday as New Riegel defeated Colonel Crawford 25-22, 25-8, 25-18 in a nonconference volleyball match.
Scherger was 32 of 33 hitting to lead the Blue Jackets (3-1). Taylor Arbogast had eight kills and Brianna Gillig seven. Gillig served three aces, Leah Bouillon had three blocks and Lindsay Bouillon added 23 assists.
Colonel Crawford dropped to 0-4.

HAMLER — Hope Schroeder banged 14 kills Saturday to lead Columbus Grove to a pair of victories at the Patrick Henry triangular. The host Patriots went 1-1.
Kristin Wynn had four blocks and nine kills on the day as the Bulldogs (2-1) defeated Pettisville 20-25, 25-21, 25-16 and knocked off Patrick Henry 25-19, 22-25, 25-18. Carlee McCluer had five aces, Briana Glass 22 assists and Jade Clement 19 assists.
Patrick Henry (2-2) defeated Pettisville 15-25, 25-23, 25-15. Natalie Herder had 13 kills and 12 digs, Courtney Rosebrook 17 kills, and Heather Gibson 57 assists.

TIFFIN — Upper Sandusky’s Jenna Holly had a strong match Saturday to lead the Rams past Tiffin Columbian 25-11, 25-11, 25-8 in a nonconference volleyball match.
Holly had 22 digs and served 11 of 11 with an ace as Upper improved to 2-1. Jessi Holly had 15 kills and 13 digs, and Molly Owens 11 kills.
Ceidyer Niederkohr added 15 digs and Emma Smith 24 assists.

Kylie Sturgill added 17 digs and three kills to go along with 10 points and an ace. Bree Orchard had seven digs with three kills and Abbey Phillps scored 15 points with three aces for the Black Knights (1-2).

CONTINENTAL TRI
CONTINENTAL — Miller City’s Kylee Ricker and Haley Lammers did it all for the Wildcats as they split a triangular match on Saturday.
Miller City lost to Upper Scioto Valley 25-23, 20-25, 14-25 in the first match, but bounced back to beat Continental 25-17, 22-25, 25-12 to improve its record to 1-2.
Ricker was 120 of 126 setting with 16 assists, and 40 of 42 serving with three aces for Miller City. Lammers smashed 10 total kills, and had 10 digs and six blocks. Jana Schroeder had a team-high 30 digs, and Skylar Niese was 26 of 30 hitting.
Statistics for Continental were not reported.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Carrol Pauley slammed seven kills with three aces and 11 digs to lead Riverdale to a 25-20, 25-18, 27-25 nonconference volleyball win over Bucyrus.
Kaye Lynn Wise added six kills and seven, Aricka Hill netted 13 points with an ace and 11 digs and Janessa Taylor served for four aces. Taylor Farmer kept the Falcons’ offense humming with 15 assists on 63 of 63 setting.
