Pauley, Taylor lead Falcons past Tigers

NORTH BALTIMORE — Carrol Pauley was 27 of 27 hitting with seven kills and added 11 digs as Riverdale topped North Baltimore 25-15, 25-17, 25-14 in Blanchard Valley Conference action Monday.

Janessa Taylor finished with seven kills on 19 of 23 hitting to go with seven points and three aces, Araeha Dodge contributed 15 points and five aces, Cara Pauley notched 17 points and Aricka Hill tallied 12 digs for the Falcons (4-3 overall, 2-2 BVC).

No statistics were reported for North Baltimore (0-6, 0-2 BVC).

ARCADIA — Abbie Dauterman slammed 16 kills and Molly Glick added 10 as Arcadia defeated St. Wendelin 25-15, 25-23, 25-23 Monday in a nonconference volleyball match.

Dauterman added eight digs and Haley Kieffer had 23 assists on 53 of 55 setting for the Redskins (3-1). Kieffer had six digs, while Glick and Hailey Ginnever each had five.

Olivia Zimmerman led St. Wendelin (1-2) with 13 kills. Allie Rutter had 16 assists, Sophia Volpe 20 digs and Becca Starn seven blocks.

DEFIANCE –All-Ohio pick Carrigan Gray put up all-world kind of numbers on Monday in leading Liberty-Benton’s volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-16, 25-13 nonleague victory over Defiance.

An outside hitter who earned Division III honorable mention all-state recognition a year ago, Carrigan was 23 for 25 serving with 19 points and four aces, 15 for 17 spiking with 11 kills and 48 for 49 setting with 20 assists.

Lauren Kotey was 21 for 27 spiking with 10 kills and Alyson Hughes was 24 for 34 spiking with four kills and three blocks. Brooke Hoehne, Olivia Newman and Gray all had a team-leading nine digs.

ROCKFORD — Parkway dominated the last two games in posting a 25-23, 15-25, 25-14, 25-14 nonleage volleyball win over Ottoville on Monday.

Bridget Landin, 21 for 23 spiking, hammered 18 kills, Annie Lindeman had 13 and C.J. Kemper (17-17 passing) added nine for Ottoville (2-1). Nicole Kramer was 18 for 20 serving and Lexie Thorbahn 12 for 12 with a team-high 30 assists.

BEN LOGAN 1

BELLEFONTAINE — Ada’s volleyball team started fast and finished strong as the Bulldogs pushed their unbeaten record to 4-0 with a 25-17, 21-25, 26-24, 25-19 nonleague win over Benjamin Logan.

Lindsay Walden pounded 11 kills, Rachel Wildman had 10 kills and nine digs and Carlee Marshall had nine kills and four blocks in Ada’s fourth straight win. Tori Wyss led the Bulldogs with 17 digs, while Morgan Sutton had seven digs and a team-high 23 assists.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Ada, 25-23-25-14.
FRESHMEN: Ada, 25-13-25-18.
