Prep Roundup: Schwarzman leads Pirates to PCL victory over Miller City

CONTINENTAL — Continental’s Zach Schwarzman recorded a hat trick, and Caleb Baker added another goal, as the Pirates edged Miller City 4-3 in Putnam County League boys soccer action on Friday.
Jared Snyder, Nick Ripko and Jackson Lammers each scored for Miller City (1-2-2, 0-1 PCL), which outshot Continental 13-8.
Trevor Williamson had 10 saves for the Pirates (4-1, 1-0 PCL).

Ottoville spikes Kalida
KALIDA — Lexie Thorbahn had 28 assists on 83 of 97 setting to lead Ottoville past Kalida 18-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-16 in Friday’s Putnam County League volleyball match.
Annie Lindeman added 19 kills and nine blocks for the Big Green (3-2, 1-0 PCL), and Bridget Landin had a team-high 16 digs.
Kylie Osterhage had 11 kills, nine digs and was 18 of 20 serving for Kalida (1-2, 0-1 PCL). Nicole Recker was 23-24 serving and dished off 26 assists.

Heritage volleyball rolls
Sarah Wright slammed 10 kills to power Heritage Christian’s volleyball team to a 25-16, 25-13, 26-24 non-conference win over Grand Lake Christian on Friday.
Hannah Berry added seven kills as the Minutemen improved their record to 3-1.

Mohawk golfers 5th
MANSFIELD — Brayden Dunlap fired an 86 to lead Mohawk’s golf team to a fifth-place finish at Friday’s Mansfield Senior Invitational at Twin Lakes Golf Club.
Carson Weinandy shot an 88 and Chet Margraf and Nathan Kimmet added a 91 and 94 respectively for the Warriors’ 359-stroke total.
Ashland Crestview won the team championship with a 301.
