Prep Volleyball Roundup: Unbeaten Arlington stops Columbus Grove

ARLINGTON — Whitney Dodds had 21 digs to go along with a pair of aces to power Arlington past Columbus Grove 25-18, 25-22, 25-16, in a nonconference volleyball match on Saturday.
She wasn’t the only star on the court for the unbeaten Red Devils (8-0). Brittnee Johnson slammed 14 kills and Lindsay Werst had 11 kills with nine digs while Abbey Dempster and Shayna Helms each finished with 13 assists.
Carlee McCluer was 12 of 12 serving with an ace for Columbus Grove (2-3), and Hope Schroeder had a team-high seven kills and four digs. Jade Clement dished off eight assists.

NEW RIEGEL — The Blue Jackets picked up their fifth win of the season with a straight-sets win against visiting Monroeville in a battle of two of the region’s top teams.
Karen Scherger and Taylor Arbogast both had double digits figures in two categories. Scherger posted 15 kills and 23 digs while Arbogast led New Riegel with 17 kills and added 14 digs. Lindsay Bouillon had 23 assists on 48 for 49 setting.

Araeha Dodge and Cara Pauley were each 15 of 16 serving for the Falcons (5-3, 3-2 BVC), and Carrol Pauley smashed a team-high 20 kills.

BLOOMDALE — A trio of Liberty-Benton players finish with double digits in kills to lead the Eagles to a 26-24, 25-12, 25-14 nonconference win over Elmwood.
Alyson Hughes pounded 12 kills and Lauren Kotey and Brooke Hoehne both added 10 kills to lead the Eagles (6-1) at the net. Sydney Colchagoff and Olivia Newman dished out 15 and 14 assists respectively for Liberty-Benton.
Jenna Wilson dished out 17 assists and Sarah Williams had 11 digs for the the Royals. Jaela Kynard smashed seven kills and Jasmine Marsh and Ashley Veryser added five and three kills respectively for Elmwood (4-2).

Hailey Ginnever was 19 of 22 serving with three aces for the Redskins (4-2). Dauterman was also efficient serving, going 21 of 22. Glick and Brooke Love each had a team-high seven digs.

OTTAWA — Kelly Nadler slammed her 1,000th career kill for Leipsic as the Vikings swept a nonconference triangular from Ottawa-Glandorf and Patrick henry on Saturday.
Leipsic scored a 25-22, 25-14 win over Ottawa-Glandorf and stopped Patrick Henry 25-15, 25-18. The Titans earned a split with a 25-9, 25-17 win over the Patriots.
Individual stats were unavailable for Leipsic.
Niki Ellerbrock topped Ottawa-Glandorf at the net with 18 kills on 23 of 26 attacks. Kayla Leatherman registered 20 digs with Ashley Stechschulte coming up with a dozen. Madison Stechschulte was 44 of 50 with 25 assists setting the ball.
Patrick Henry’s Courtney Rosebrook slammed nine kills with three digs. Heather Gibson added 23 assists and Tara Tietje 12 digs for the Patriots (3-4).

ST. MARYS — Shana Hovest and Brittany Hovest combined for 75 digs on the day and Kayla Rieman had 46 assists as Pandora-Gilboa’s volleyball team went 1-2 at the St. Marys Memorial Tournament on Saturday.
The Rockets (3-2) knocked off Spencerville 25-17, 25-13 in the first game, but dropped matches to Fort Recovery (18-25, 13-25) and Old Fort (25-28, 14-25). Mikaylie Morman slammed 12 kills to lead the Rockets, and Alexa Maag had eight blocks.

SIDNEY — A young Hopewell-Loudon team dropped all three of its matches at Saturday’s Sidney Lehman Invitational.
The Chieftains lost to the host Cavaliers 25-13, 25-14, dropped a 25-17, 25-19 decision to Anna and fell to Lima Central Catholic 17-25, 25-22, 25-15.
Shelbi Sauber slammed 21 kills with 27 digs and two aces and Jacque Burns was 153 of 154 setting with 38 assists and 20 digs to lead the Chieftains (1-5).
McComb won the tournament with a 3-0 record.
The Panthers stopped Frankfort Adena 25-15, 25-22, beat Minster 21-25, 25-16, 25-22 and Norwalk St. Paul 19-25, 25-22, 25-23 to improve to 7-0 on the season.
No individuals stats were reported.

Cory-Rawson stopped Waynesfield-Goshen 25-19, 25-10 while dropping a 24-26, 25-18, 25-13 decision to Ada.
Kendra Tuttle was 123 of 124 setting with 34 assists and Abby Rosendale pounded out 12 kills on 25 of 26 attacks for the Hornets (3-2).
