Girls Soccer Roundup: Findlay, St. Ursula play to 1-1 draw

Findlay junior midfielder Hannah Robertson scored in the final minute of the first half and defense dominated the rest of the match as the Trojans and Toledo St. Ursula battled to a 1-1 tie in Three Rivers Athletic Conference girls soccer action at Elmer Graham Stadium on Wednesday.
Robertson accepted a cross from Jenna Marie Hohman and beat St. Ursula’s keeper on a blast from 18 yards out for the equalizer with 53 seconds on the clock.
St. Ursula got on the board first. Findlay goalie Marissa Wintrow made the save on a direct kick by the Arrows, but Amy King put the rebound into the back of the net.
Findlay had an 8-5 edge in shots on goal. Wintow finished with four total saves.
Halle McCleave had three steals and three intercepts to lead Findlay’s defense. Elizabeth Alexander (5 intercepts) and Sierra Perry (3) had one steal each.
The outcome left both teams with 2-1-2 overall records. Findlay is 1-0-1 in TRAC matches, St. Ursula is 0-1-1.

RIVERDALE 0
MOUNT BLANCHARD — Jensen Hiegel scored a pair of goals to power defending North Central Ohio Soccer Association champ Liberty-Benton to a 4-0 NCOSA win over Riverdale.
Leah Recker and Emma Swisher also scored for Liberty-Benton as the Eagles improved to 2-2-2 overall and 2-0 in the NCOSA.
Abby Rachel, Sophie Norden and Recker were credited with assists.
Liberty-Benton had an 11-5 edge in shots. Colbi Colchagoff recorded five saves for the Eagles. Jenna Livingston had seven saves for the Falcons (5-1, 2-1).

KALIDA 2
MILLER CITY 0
KALIDA — Makenna Vorst and Megan Vine scored for Kalida as the Wildcats blanked Miller City 2-0 in a Putnam County League match.
Vorst and Alexa Ellerbrock recorded assists for Kalida (3-2-1 overall, 1-0 PCL), which had a 31-5 edge in shots.
Morgan Knapke had five saves for Kalida while Amanda Simon had 23 saves for Miller City (1-2-2, 0-1-1).

OTTOVILLE 2
CORY-RAWSON 0
OTTOVILLE — Dan Eickholt and Haley Landwehr both scored one goal and assisted each other’s goal for Ottoville as the Big Green and Cory-Rawson played to a 2-2 tie in a nonconference match.
Becca Schutz and Brooklyn Shoemaker scored for the Hornets (1-1-2). Schutz also added an assist.
Ottoville (1-2-2) had a 7-5 edge in shots. Cory-Rawson goalkeeper Hannah Bixler had five saves. Lyndsey Wannemacher registered three saves for the Big Green.
