MCCOMB — McComb exploded for nine runs in the third inning and went on to keep a share of the Blanchard Valley Conference baseball lead on Wednesday with a 17-7 thumping of Pandora-Gilboa in five innings.
Matt Smith and Kyle Wasson each doubled and drove in three runs for the Panthers, who upped their overall record to 10-2 and stayed a half-game up in the BVC at 6-0. Liberty-Benton is 5-0 in league play.
Ryan Wenzinger added three hits and two RBIs and winning pitcher Caden Schroeder (3-0) doubled, singled and knocked in a pair of runs for McComb.
Drew Johnson tripled, singled and drove in two runs for the Rockets (2-11, 0-5 BVC), who also got a triple, two singles and an RBI from Carter Nofziger.

LEIPSIC — The starting pitchers for both Leipsic and Van Buren each allowed two earned runs. But the Black Knights allowed three additional unearned runs on three errors in what was the difference as the Vikings claimed a 5-2 Blanchard Valley Conference win.
Tyler Hiegel paced Leipsic (9-4, 5-1 BVC) with five strikeouts and five hits allowed across 5 1/3 innings, also adding a single at the plate. Grant Rader singled twice and drove in a run and Nick Schey added an RBI.
Brandon Bell led Van Buren (7-7, 4-3) with two triples, while both Saige Warren and Angel Garcia singled and drove in a run. Joshua Seitz struck out six and allowed five runs, two earned, across six frames in the loss.

NORTH BALTIMORE — Marshall Rose hit three singles with two RBIs while Tyler George belted a home run and drove in three runs to lead Liberty-Benton over North Baltimore 12-1 in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Wednesday.
A.J. Dobbins and Jacob Nichols added two hits and two RBIs for L-B (7-3, 5-0 BVC). Wyatt Young doubled and singled.
David Patterson and Alex Snyder had two hits to lead North Baltimore (5-7, 2-3 BVC).

ARCADIA — Hopewell-Loudon’s Kyle Reinbolt fanned 15 batters and combined with Alex Bour to one-hit Arcadia in the Chieftains’ 9-1 Blanchard Valley Conference baseball win Wednesday.
Reinbolt allowed only one hit and one walk in six innings of work and also drove in a pair of runs to help his own cause and Hopewell-Loudon improved to 5-6 overall, 2-3 in the BVC.
The Redskins got one run across in the seventh inning before falling to 3-9, 1-4.

SYCAMORE — Wyatt Cook pitched a two-hitter to outduel Wynford’s Wyatt Smith as Mohawk came away with a 2-0 win on Thursday in a Northern 10 Conference baseball game shortened to 5½ innings due to weather.
Cook struck out five and walked three and received the support of single runs in the first and fourth innings as the Warriors upped their record to 12-1 overall and 8-1 in the N10.
Cole Widmer had an RBI and David Dietrich, Cadin Emshoff and Tanner Osborn each had a single for Mohawk.
Smith walked six and fanned four as the Royals fell to 3-8 overall and 2-6 in conference play.

MILLER CITY — Bryce Riepenhoff was 2 for 3 including a double entering the bottom of the eighth inning on Wednesday.
And after Ayersville scored once to take a one-run lead in the top of the inning, Riepenhoff walked it off in dramatic fashion with a grad slam in propelling Miller City to a 7-4 nonconference win.
Riepenhoff finished a triple shy of the cycle as the Wildcats improved to 8-2 overall with the win. Justin Schnipke (1B, 2B) was the only other Miller City player to tally a multi-hit game. Mark Kuhlman earned the win striking out one and allowing one unearned run in one inning of relief.
Kasey Williams guided the Pilots (5-7) with two doubles and two RBIs, while Jacob Miller singled twice.
