TOLEDO — Junior Lauren Spaeth saved three match points to force a third-set tiebreaker, then dominated Toledo Whitmer’s Amy Kimura 7-1 in the tiebreaker Tuesday to win 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (1) at No. 3 singles to highlight the Findlay High girls tennis team’s 5-0 victory over Whitmer in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference match.
The Trojans’ Suzi Zuver won 6-1, 6-0 over Madison Woerner at No. 1 singles and Julia Weigman defeated Maddie Terry 7-6 (3), 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
Findlay’s Katelynn Coleman and Brooklyn Peck topped Erica Hope and Sayler Shull 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, while Evelyn Kutschbach and Kaulor Stocker beat Kaylee Deering and Kayla Ford 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Findlay improved to 3-9, 1-4 TRAC with the victory. Whitmer fell to 1-9, 0-5 TRAC.
The Trojans host Oregon Clay at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the FHS courts.

TOLEDO — Emma Harris fired an even-par 35 Tuesday to earn individual medalist honors and lead Findlay High to a second-place team finish at a Northwest Ohio Girls Golf League event at Detwiler Park Golf Course.
Bowling Green won the event with a 178, followed by Findlay (188) and Sylvania Southview (209). Cardinal Stritch and Ottawa Hills did not field complete teams.
Chloe Holliday shot a 43 for the Trojans. Jade Smith carded a 51 and Carsyn Kouns shot a 59.
Volleyball whips Whitmer
Britney Haas and Amy Feczer both slammed nine kills to power Findlay High School’s volleyball team to a 25-14, 25-19, 25-16 Three Rivers Athletic Conference win over Toledo Whitmer.
Grace Blatnik dished out 28 assists, Grace Ramsey added 15 digs and Olivia Baxter chipped in seven kills with seven digs for the Trojans.
Amber Meisner and Blatnik also combined for more than nine aces in the match.
Findlay also won the junior varsity game 14-25, 25-19, 25-15 and captured the freshman contest 19-25, 25-15, 25-22.
