Findlay High Roundup: Miles scores twice in FHS soccer win

Taylor Miles scored twice, one in each half, as Findlay High’s boys soccer team had the first four goals in its 4-1 victory over Toledo Central Catholic in Three Rivers Athletic Conference play Wednesday.
Miles scored at the 27:48 mark to get the Trojans (4-4-1, 2-1-0 TRAC) on the board. Aidan Detterman scored 40 seconds later on what was Griff Hartman’s second assists in as many goals.
Jacob Gangle scored in the second half, assisted by Mitchell Meyer as Findlay finished with a 24-3 shot advantage.
Brett Bishop scored with seven seconds remaining to put the Fighting Irish (3-5-1, 0-3-1) on the board.

Girls golf is third
MAUMEE — Chloe Holliday fired a 44 and Emma Harris carded a 45 on Wednesday in leading Findlay High’s girls golf team to a third-place finish in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference match played at the Maumee Bay Golf Club.
Led by a medalist-winning 35 from Lily Rinker, Toledo St. Ursula posted a 151 team score to dominate the six-team event. Toledo Notre Dame was a distant second at 170, followed by Findlay (201), Oregon Clay (209), Toledo Whitmer (229) and Fremont Ross (280).
Jade Smith scored a 54 and Carsyn Kouns a 58 to complete Findlay’s total.

Girls soccer ties
TOLEDO — Findlay outshot Toledo Central Catholic 10-3 on Wednesday but could manage just a 1-1 tie with the Irish in a Three Rivers Athletic Conference girls soccer contest.
Madison Mlsna, with an assist from Magot Simeon, scored for Findlay (2-4-2, 0-2-1 TRAC). Madi Moody had the lone goal for Toledo Central Catholic (4-4-0, 1-1-1 TRAC). Kendra Wurm made three saves in goal for the Trojans.
Alivia Benjamin and Cassie Wood led Findlay defensively with six intercepts each. Jaclyn Bendt chipped in with five.
