Prep volleyball: Arcadia tops Van Buren in four sets

VAN BUREN — Samantha Watkins belted 23 kills and added 16 digs as Arcadia outlasted Van Buren in four sets 25-19, 27-25, 21-25, 25-23 in a Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball match Monday.
Tori Green narrowly trailed Watkins with 19 kills and 12 digs, while Sydney Ramsey led with 24 digs and served a perfect 22 of 22 for the Redskins (5-6, 2-3 BVC). Caity Cramer led Arcadia with 52 assists and added 11 digs.
Lydia Reineke belted 29 kills and also led with 20 digs and four blocks as Mackenzie Saltzman also played part for the Black Knights (6-5, 1-4 BVC), serving a perfect 15 of 15 and adding 11 digs and two blocks. Lindsey Shaw led with 38 assists and five digs and Sydney Leeper spiked five kills for Van Buren.

COLUMBUS GROVE — Bridget Landin led Ottoville with 14 kills and five blocks as the Big Green remained unbeaten in sweeping Columbus Grove 25-23, 25-18, 25-9 in Monday’s Putnam County League action.
Landin added nine digs while Emily Landin led with 18 digs and three aces as Ottoville improved to 12-0 overall and 2-0 in the PCL to remain tied with Leipsic atop the conference standings.
CJ Kemper added 11 digs and nine kills, Abi Hilvers led with 33 assists and Brynlee Hanneman added four blocks for Ottoville.
Rylee Sybert had 11 assists and seven digs for Columbus Grove (6-3, 2-2 PCL). Paige Bellman had six kills, Lauren Birkemeier added five blocks and Amy Vorst collected 10 digs.
Columbus Grove dropped to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the PCL.

BASCOM — Kenadee Siebenaller pounded nine kills, Jessie Kreais had seven and Jacque Burns added five in powering Hopewell-Loudon to a straight set 25-10, 25-5, 25-10 win over North Baltimore on Monday in a Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball match.
Hailey Coppus had a team-leading 22 assists and Chelsey Depinet had six ace serves in helping Hopewell-Loudon improve to 9-3 overall and 4-1 in BVC matches.
Katelyn Weinandy had eight digs and Alivia Light six digs for North Baltimore (1-8, 1-4 BVC).

RAWSON — Hayley Heitmeyer spiked 10 kills and blocked seven Cory-Rawson hits as Leipsic trounced the Hornets 25-16, 25-8, 25-13 in Monday’s Blanchard Valley Conference match.
Selena Loredo added four aces on a perfect 19 of 19 serving to aid the Vikings as they improved to 10-1 overall and 4-1 in the BVC. Kierra Meyer had nine kills, Kacey Dulle led with 15 digs and Carlee Siefker served a perfect 18 of 18 with three aces.
Cory-Rawson, which fell to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the BVC, was led by Roni Risner’s 11 digs and near-perfect 9 of 10 serving. Riley Garmatter added team-highs of nine kills and 10 assists with 18 of 21 hitting and six digs.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Hannah Warrington hammered 10 spikes, Schy Shepherd had eight and Caitlin Elseser six to lead unbeaten Liberty-Benton to an overpowering 25-8, 25-2, 25-11 Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball win over Riverdale on Monday.
Warrington was 20 for 22 spiking and added nine digs, Elseser had four blocks and Alissa Rhodes was 58 for 59 setting with 23 assists. Mackenzie Murphy had 10 digs, Katie Veenstra nine and Chloe Miller eight for L-B, 11 overall and 5-0 in the BVC.
Madyson Walter’s 16 assists led Riverdale (0-10, 0-5 BVC). Tayler Ashburn added nine kills.

ARLINGTON — Arlington edged McComb in a see-saw fifth set and kept its unbeaten record in the Blanchard Valley Conference intact with a 25-13, 25-11, 24-26, 21-25, 15-13 win over McComb on Monday.
After winning the first two sets, Arlington needed a gut-check rally in the fifth to avoid the upset and improve to 9-1 overall, 5-0 in the BVC and remain tied for the league lead with Liberty-Benton (11-0, 5-0).
Alyssa Jordan had 45 assists and four ace serves for Arlington. Hannah Willow led the Red Devils with 27 kills, Jenna Pepple had 13, Kylie Rausch 10 and Addy Lafferty nine.
McComb (5-8, 3-2 BVC), which has won the last four BVC volleyball titles, got big games from Lauren Grubb and Hannah Schroeder. Grubb was 24 for 24 serving with two aces, 19 for 22 spiking with four kills and 106 for 107 setting with 33 assists. Schroeder was 22 for 23 spiking with seven kills and three blocks and 32 for 36 passing with 10 digs.

Christen Hohman led New Riegel (9-2) with 17 digs. Lindsay Bouillon had 31 assists. Lillie Orians had six kills for Upper Sandusky (4-8). Bre Rosario and Eve Smith each had 12 digs, and Lucy Smith had 13 assists.

VANLUE — Paige Fenstermaker led Pandora-Gilboa in aces, kills and blocks and led the Rockets to a 25-16, 18-25, 25-15, 25-21 win over Vanlue in a Blanchard Valley Conference match.
Fenstermaker posted highs of three aces, 18 kills and five blocks to pace the Rockets’ offense and defense. Kayla Ferguson added 12 kills, 19 digs, three blocks and two aces for P-G, which improved to 4-7 overall and 3-2 in the BVC.
Taylor Schwab led P-G with 21 digs and added three aces and three blocks, while Addilyn Diller tallied 31 assists.
Vanlue (5-7, 1-4 BVC) was led by Amanda Clymer’s 18 kills and five blocks. Audrey Phillips added a team-best 15 points with 23 assists and six digs, Maliah Snook slammed 16 kills and Emma Biller had eight kills, six digs and 14 assists.

Rachel Nickels added a team-best three aces, Katelyn Drewes spiked two aces with 10 digs and Audrey Sonnenberg dished 31 assists, had eight digs and added three blocks.
Jill Hannah paced Elmwood, which fell to 2-10, with 24 digs, Anna Veryser led with four kills, while Peighton Troike (8 digs), Lizzy Hall (6 digs), Taiha Douglas (4 blocks) and Maddie Mossbarger each had two kills.
