Girls Soccer Roundup: Hensel breaks goals record for Upper

UPPER SANDUSKY — Megan Hensel broke Upper Sandusky’s program record with five goals on Saturday in the Rams’ 10-2 nonleague win over Mansfield Senior.
Hensel’s five goals were good for her fifth career hat trick as she passed Jaime Calvin and Sarah Rall’s former records both set in 2012. She added an assist, giving her 11 total points for the day — also a program record, again passing Calvin’s record set in 2012.
Audrey Boes also found her way into Upper’s record book tying the program record with four assists, joining Brigitte Snow (2012), Grace Miller (2014 & 15) and Trudy Daughenbaugh (2016), while also scoring thrice for her first career hat trick.
Alivia Oney and Cortni Brown also added a goal apiece for the Rams, who improved to 3-5-2 overall, with Brown making one save in goal and Mirana Donnell saving two shots.
Reign Morales scored both goals for Mansfield (2-8).

COLUMBUS — Aylissa Shoemaker’s first-half goal stood up as Cory-Rawson topped Kalida 1-0 in a nonconference girls soccer match at MAPFRE Stadium.
Playing at the home of the professional Columbus Crew, Shoemaker’s goal, assisted by Sophie Simon, boosted the Hornets’ record to 3-7-1.
The Wildcats (5-3-2) had five shots on goal to four for Cory-Rawson. The Hornets’ Hannah Bixler stopped five shots and Kalida’s Bailey White made three saves.

ST. MARYS — Reygan Frey scored twice as Riverdale tripled up St. Marys Memorial 3-1 in Saturday’s nonleague girls match.
Gabi Rodriguez added a goal and an assist for the Falcons (8-1-2), while Danielle Searfoos also added an assist and Katy Miller made eight saves. Brooke McKamey led the defense with nine intercepts and Lexie Wright tallied eight.
St. Marys fell to 4-4-1 with the loss.

MILLER CITY — Alex Hoeffel buried four goals in what was more than enough scoring for Continental as the Pirates downed Miller City 5-1 in Saturday’s Putnam County League girls match.
Kait Alvarado also scored for Continental, now 6-5 overall and 2-0 in the PCL, with Riley Fenter and Brooke Davis recording assists.
Kylie Niese scored the lone goal for the Wildcats (1-10, 0-3 PCL) and Natalie Koenig made 13 saves.

FORT JENNINGS — Ottoville took the lead in the first half and put the match away in the second half in a 3-0 shutout of Fort Jennings in Friday’s Putnam County League girls soccer action.
Elyse Baker scored for the Big Green, who remain unbeaten at 8-0-1 overall and 2-0 in the PCL, in the first half, before Kasey Knippen and Lindsay Schweller each both scored in the final 40 minutes.
Brittany Winhover saved three shots for Ottoville and Vanessa Wallenhorst made five saves in goal for the Musketeers (3-6, 0-3 PCL).
