BOWLING GREEN — Toledo St. Ursula had the top two golfers and three of the top seven on Tuesday when the Arrows dominated the girls Division I district golf tournament held at Bowling Green’s Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Lily Rinker and Pinya Pipatjarasgit, two of the five returning starters St. Ursulas brought back from last year’s team that finished third at state, went 1-2 in the medalist standings. Rinker fired a 70 and Pipatjarasgit a 71. Kelsey Sager added an 81 for the Arrows, whose 307 team total beat second-place Ashland by 29 strokes. Findlay finished sixth with a 384 team total.
As the top two teams in the district, St. Ursula and Ashland qualified for the state tournament to be held Oct. 20-21 at the Ohio State University Gray Course.
The top two individual scores from non-advancing teams also qualified for state. Bowling Green’s Macy Hanus with a 72 and Sylvania Northview’s Lexi Knight (75) claimed those two spots.
Junior Chloe Holliday led Findlay with an 82 and senior Emma Harris carded an 83. Junior Carsyn Kouns (104) and senior Jade Smith (115) completed the Trojans’ scoring.
