College football: Bluffton, ONU finish with wins

DEFIANCE — Bluffton University’s Darian Greeley scored on a 30-yard run with 13:59 remaining in the game to power the Beavers to a 33-26 win over Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Defiance in the season finale Saturday at Coressel Stadium.
With the win, Bluffton finished its season at 4-6 overall and 4-4 in the HCAC. Defiance ended 2-8 and 2-6.
Greeley’s score turned a 26-25 deficit into a 33-26 Bluffton lead when Thad Phillips added the catch for a two-point PAT.
Bluffton quarterback Brandon Koch threw a 33-yard pass to Elmwood grad Keyon Campbell to open the scoring. He added a 3-yard scoring strike to Lucas Espitia in the third quarter.
Bluffton’s other touchdown came on Dylan Buckholder’s 20-yard pick six in the third quarter.
Logan Mico scored on a 1-yard run and threw touchdown passes covering 43 and 38 yards to Shoe Sanders to lead Defiance.
Ada grad Micah Roberson finished with seven catches for 62 yards and Campbell had two receptions for 53 yards to lead the Beavers’ receiving corps.
Koch, meanwhile, was 21 of 25 passing for 244 yards.

ADA — Ohio Northern led Baldwin Wallace 14-10 at halftime before pulling away in the second half for a 42-25 win over the Yellow Jackets at Dial-Roberson Stadium to close out the 2017 season.
Ohio Northern finished the year at 7-3 while Baldwin Wallace ended up 6-4.
The Polar Bears’ Christain Williams had a big day as he scored on runs of 1 and 36 yards in the first half while adding touchdown runs of 8 and 1 yard in the second half. He finished with 179 yards on 30 carries.
Ohio Northern quarterback Anthony McFadden, who was 9 of 17 passing for 115 yards while adding 110 yards rushing, scored on a 7-yard run and tossed a a 54-yard TD pass to Chad Rex.
Matt Lowry had touchdown runs of 1 and 3 yards and Jake Hudson caught a 71-yard touchdown pass from Ty Gallo to lead Baldwin Wallace.
Hudson was 13 of 19 passing for 125 yards. He also had a team-high 101 yards rushing on 13 carries.
