Prep basketball: P-G opens by beating Mustangs

HARROD — Drew Johnson opened Pandora-Gilboa’s season with 23 points as the Rockets blasted Allen East in the first quarter en route to a 68-31 shellacking in nonleague action on Wednesday.
Riley Larcom added 10 points for P-G (1-0) and Cooper McCullough scored 9 as it racked up a 23-6 first-quarter edge.
Eli Phillips, who scored six points, added a team-high six rebounds for P-G and Ryan Lee led with three steals.
Devin Reed and Brady Harris paced the Mustangs with six points apiece.

Kasey Knippen led the way with 23 points while Bridget Landin added 15 for the Big Green (3-0 overall, 1-0 PCL).
Kristen Luersman scored nine points for Fort Jennings.

GENOA — Genoa outscored Old Fort 18-13 in the fourth quarter to come away with a 49-46 nonconference girls basketball win over the Stockaders on Tuesday.
Tatum Neumann had 19 points and Rylee Fredericksen 12 for Genoa (1-3).
Madisyn Spencer had 14 points and Ashlyn Magers 10 to lead the Stockaders (0-3). Morgan Miller grabbed seven rebounds and Spencer added five assists.
