UF Roundup: Tough trip north for Roughnecks

KENOSHA, Wis. — It ended up being a tough trip north for the University of Findlay wrestling team, as the Roughnecks dropped three dual matches to top-five foes at Saturday’s Ranger Duals at Wisconsin-Parkside.
The Roughnecks, the No. 16 team in the latest NCAA Division II coaches’ poll, dropped a 24-18 decision to second-ranked Parkside before falling to No. 5 McKendree 31-13 and No. 1 St. Cloud State 38-7.
UF senior 184-pounder Brad Metz led the way with a 3-0 record, while 285-pounder Mimmo Lytle was 2-0 on the day.
No other Findlay wrestler had a winning record.
The Roughnecks will be back in action Wednesday, when they travel to the University of Indianapolis for a dual match.

Stiegal leads swimmers
ALLENDALE, Mich. — Amanda Stiegal won a pair of events to lead the University of Findlay women’s swimming and diving team in Saturday’s dual meet with Grand Valley State.
Grand Valley State scored a 150½-90½ win over the Oilers in the women’s meet. The Lakers topped UF 166-73 in the men’s meet.
Stiegal won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.11 seconds and the 100 free in 54.14.
Kathryn Samuelson (Ottawa-Glandorf) captured the 100 backstroke and Hanna Cederholm finished first in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.76).
Janko Radmanovic led UF in the men’s meet with a pair of wins.
Radmanovic won the 1,000 free (9:59.85) and 100 butterfly (1:06.76).
The Oilers host Wayne State at Sink Natatorium on Friday.
