CINCINNATI — The University of Findlay men’s golf team finished off a wire-to-wire victory on Tuesday, posting a 294 score in the final round to capture the 2018 Great Midwest Athletic Conference championship at the Four Bridges Country Club.
UF opened the tournament with a 290 and held a four-stroke lead over defending GMAC champion Trevecca Nazarine. Tuesday’s 294 score gave UF an 889 three-day total and a seven-stroke margin over Trevecca’s 896.
Dylan DeWitt went 73-73-75 for a 221 total and was medalist runner-up for the tournament. Justin Roth (71-78-74) was fourth overall with a 223 total, one stroke ahead of teammate Cam Wardley (73-70-72–224). DeWitt, Roth and Wardley — all seniors — made the GMAC all-conference team.
Cameron Bruce (73-80-73) completed UF’s team total with a 226. Luke Kelly (74-75-80) posted a score of 229.
The championship was UF’s first in men’s golf since the Oilers won the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) title in 2007.

University of Findlay pitcher Josh Robinson has been named as the Great Midwest Athletic Conference North Division Pitcher of the Week.
Robinson earned his spot as the week’s best pitcher after taking the mound on three occasions last week for a total of 31/3 innings of work. He allowed no runs on just one hit while picking up a save and a win in a double-header against Lake Erie. The save was Robinson’s 11th of the season which gives him the G-MAC record for most saves in a single season.
