Findlay High School’s baseball team forged a 12-6 lead on Toledo Central Catholic on Wednesday. But the Trojans couldn’t hold it, as TCC scored nine runs in the top of the seventh inning and rallied for a 15-13 Three Rivers Athletic Conference victory.
Jase Bowen led off the game with a solo home run, had three hits overall and accounted for five RBI. The Irish (8-5, 4-3 TRAC) had only two hits during their nine-run rally in the seventh, but took full advantage of four walks, a hit batsman and an error.
Findlay took a 5-4 lead with a big third inning. A bases-loaded double by Anthony Gonzalez and Pat Dillon’s two-run single tied the game. Jarret Bartson’s two-out pinch hit double and Harrison Hall’s RBI single put Findlay in front for the first time.
Central Catholic tied the game in the top of the fourth, but Findlay scored twice on an error in the bottom of the inning. Gonzalez had an RBI single and J.D. Spiceland a two-run double in the fifth, and Will Kiffmeyer doubled in a run and Drew Parish lined a two-run single to put Findlay up 12-6 in the sixth.
Gonzalez and Kiffmeyer had two singles and a double each to lead Findlay’s 18-hit attack. Phillip Bibler, Parish, Nate Miller Pat Dillon, Hall and Nick Kidwell all had two hits each for the Trojans (5-8, 3-3 TRAC).

MORRAL — Trey Bame swatted nearly half of Carey’s hits and struck out 11 Ridgedale batters to lead Carey past the Rockets 2-1 to remain perfect on the season Wednesday.
Bame allowed one run and three hits in a complete-game win and Dylan Grothaus belted a two-run single in the fourth inning for the Blue Devils, who improved to 14-0 overall and 11-0 in the Northern 10 Conference.
The Blue Devils are riding the longest win streak in school history.

GENOA — Elmwood scored two runs in the third to take the lead, but Genoa answered over the next three frames in edging the Royals 3-2 in a Northern Buckeye Conference game.
Tyler St. Clair, who took the loss on the mound, led Elmwood’s offense with two singles and a pair of RBIs. Ryan Cox added two singles as the Royals fell to 5-7 overall and 3-3 in the NBC.
Babe Scott singled twice to lead the Comets (11-2, 5-1).

FOSTORIA — Ben Gray struck out five while throwing a five-inning no-hitter as Otsego defeated Fostoria High School 12-0 in a five-inning Northern Buckeye Conference baseball game at Grant Jackson Field.
Gray did not walk a batter and got the support of four RBIs from Corey Hollar as the Knights upped their record to 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the NBC.
Hollar doubled and singled, while Otsego also got a hit and two RBIs from Ian Kress.
Alex Sierra took the loss for the Redmen (1-11, 0-6).

Tyler Shrider singled, doubled and tallied an RBI for the Wildcats (8-6).

Losing pitcher Bryce Hipsher had a double and Mason Roby singled as the Polar Bears (1-12, 0-3 NWCC) tallied two hits off USV starter Jason Moots.
Moots struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter in getting the complete-game win for the Rams (3-7, 3-1).
