Prep Soccer Roundup: Stoodt powers Cory-Rawson past Columbian

TIFFIN — Cory-Rawson’s Tyler Stoodt scored two goals to help the Hornets defeat Tiffin Columbian 4-2 for a nonleague boys soccer win Thursday at Frost-Kalnow Stadium.

Patrick Dearwester and Hunter Bixler also scored for Cory-Rawson (1-0-1).

Xavier Coppus and Presley Eastlick accounted for both Tiffin Columbian goals.

FORT JENNINGS — Five Ottawa-Glandorf each scored a goal and Ethan Alt recorded a shutout as the Titans posted their first win of the season, beating Fort Jennings 5-1.

Nolan Unterbrink, Ethan White, Drew Kuhlman, Andrew Kaufman and Austin Birkemeier tallied goals for O-G, which improved to 1-0-1 on the season.

Alt stopped four shots on goal and Fort Jennings’ Evan Hoersten turned back 11.

The Musketeers (0-2) got a goal from Jack Sellman.

Anson Hill recorded seven saves in net for the Rams (1-2) who mustered five shots on goal.

ELIDA — Elida topped Bluffton 4-2 in a shootout on its way to a 2-1 win over the Pirates in the Elida Kickoff Tournament.

The Pirates led 1-0 on Jonathan Shriner’s goal that came off a pass from Tayton Kleman in the 35th minute. Elida eventually was able to tie the contest with a goal of its own 16 minutes into the second half.

Bluffton had a 6-3 edge in shots. Dakota Clymer had two saves for the Pirates.

LIMA BATH 1

CONTINENTAL 0

LIMA — Armando Garcia’s goal at the 28-minute mark in the second half lifted Lima Bath over Continental 1-0 in the Lima Bath Kickoff Classic.

Continental (1-1) outshot Lima Bath 8-4 but couldn’t punch one in.

Trevor Brecht made three saves in goal for the Pirates.

ST. MARYS — Maya Rickle notched two goals and an assist as Liberty-Benton fought off St. Marys Memorial 3-2 in a nonconference girls soccer match.

Savanah Richards’ goal with 15:57 left in the match put the Eagles ahead 3-1 and they held on to improved their record to 2-0.

Lexi Nagy also had an assist for L-B, and goalkeeper Sophie Aschemeier made six saves.

Emma Wibbeler and Tabby Knous scored a goal apiece and Emma White had 12 saves in goal for the Roughriders (0-2).

Zoe Chisholm scored two goal and assisted on four others; Aylissa Shoemaker scored twice; and Libby McVetta added a goal and four assists to pace Cory-Rawson (2-1). Evelyn Waltz had the shutout in goal.

Reagan Ulm recorded 26 saves for Delphos St. John’s (1-1).

Natalie Koenig stopped 14 shots for the Wildcats (1-1).

MILAN — After a scoreless first half, Edison exploded for four goals in the second half to defeat Upper Sandusky 4-0 in a nonleague r game.

Autumn Canterbury, Piper Nickoli, Sophie Clark and Holly Racioppi scored for Edison (2-0). Aliyah Caporini assisted on three of those goals, and Elizabeth Pruitt made two saves to record the shutout.

Cortni Brown had eight saves for Upper Sandusky (1-2), which was outshot 13-2.
