Girls soccer roundup: Missler scores 4 times in Van Buren win

VAN BUREN — Hannah Missler put the ball in the back of the net four times and added a pair of assists to power Van Buren to Thursday’s 8-1 nonconference girls soccer win over Fort Jennings.

Mady Parker netted two goals and Peyton Sendelbach and Breanna Tabler also scored for Van Buren. Sendelbach and Grace Hoerig both had two assists and Zoe Horne, Agnes Durliat and Rylee Johnson each added one for the Black Knights (1-1-1).

Fort Jennings scored on an own goal.

Van Buren had a 14-2 edge in shots. Goalkeeper Reilly Fitzpatrick recorded six saves for the Musketeers. Jewelya Hutchison had one for the Black Knights.

UPPER SANDUSKY — Alivia Oney collected three goals and an assist to pace Upper Sandusky to a 5-0 victory over Tiffin Columbian on Thursday in nonconference girls soccer.

Riley Messersmith added a goal and two assists and Lindsay Weininger netted a goal as the Rams improved to 2-3.

The Tornadoes (1-3) managed only three shots, with Upper Sandusky goalkeeper Cortni Brown turning away all of them.

COLUMBUS GROVE — Lauren Langhals scored two goals as Kalida stopped Columbus Grove 6-1 in Thursday’s nonconference girls soccer match.

Kathryn Siebeneck, Peyton Wurth, Melanie Meyers and Delaney Vorst also added goals for the Wildcats (1-2). Sydney Wurth, Kenzie Fortman and Madison Langhals added assists.

Emily Watt scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs.

Kalida had a 27-2 edge in shots. Goalkeeper Mya Schmitz had one save for Kalida. Madisyn Maag recorded 21 for Columbus Grove.



MILLER CITY — Kayleen Maas scored off an assist from Madison Ellerbrock as Miller City dropped a 4-1 game to Elida in girls soccer play Thursday.

The Wildcats (2-2) were outshot 22-3. Miller City’s Natalie Koenig had 18 saves.

Elida improved to 3-0.
