UF Roundup: Women’s golf fifth at Indianapolis Fall Invite

INDIANAPOLIS — The University of Findlay women’s golf team carded identical rounds of 299 on Monday and stood in fifth place in the Indianapolis Fall Invitational.

Makenzie Torres posted rounds of 77 and 70 on Monday, when teams played 36 holes due to Sunday’s wet weather. Her 147 total is tied for tenth in the individual standings.

Meredith Wipper (76-75) and Kristina Kniesly (73-78) both shot 151 while Samantha Hatter (73-79) is another stroke back at 152.

Indianapolis (294-293–577) leads second-place Dallas Baptist (292-295–587) by 10 shots heading into today’s final round.

GMAC honors Marsh

University of Findlay sophomore Shannon Marsh, who had two goals and an assist in wins over Ursuline and Lake Erie, has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference women’s soccer player of the week.

Marsh had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over Ursuline, and added another score in UF’s 3-0 victory over Lake Erie.
