KRASNAYA POLYANA, Russia (AP) — Rookie bobsledder Lauryn Williams will be in the top U.S. sled at the Sochi Olympics.

U.S. officials say Williams will be in the sled driven by Elana Meyers in the women’s competition. Williams first tried bobsledding last fall after making the transition from track to sliding, the same path taken by Olympic teammate Lolo Jones.

Jones will push Jazmine Fenlator’s USA-3 sled. In USA-2, it’s Jamie Greubel driving with brakeman Aja Evans.

Jones and Williams will be the ninth and 10th Americans to compete in both the summer and winter Olympics.

Williams is a 2004 Olympic silver medalist in the 100 meters and 2012 gold medalist as part of the 4×100-meter relay. Jones was a hurdles favorite in 2008 and 2012, missing a medal both times.
