Program about constellations at Oakwoods

A planetarium program about constellations will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, in the “Doc” Phillips Discovery Center at Oakwoods Nature Preserve.
The program is the first in 2014. Throughout the year, monthly programs will present the 88 constellations.
The family event is recommended for individuals 5 years old and up. Inside the portable planetarium, participants must sit on the floor. They may bring a pillow or cushion.
Prior to the program, pizza, cookies and lemonade will be available.
A registration fee of $5 per person is required at the Hancock Park District office, 1424 E. Main Cross St., by Jan. 7.
