Findlay firefighters were called to a fire at the Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse at the Findlay Village Mall at about 2:20 a.m. Saturday. Firefighters said they had the fire knocked down by 2:30 a.m., then set up equipment to clear smoke from the building.
Findlay Fire Department battalion chief Matt Traver said mall maintenance noticed smoke in the area. When crews arrived they saw fire near the front grill and bar area.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The extent of the damage at this time is unknown but Traver said there was smoke damage as well as water damage caused by the activated sprinkler system.
