Meteorologist Gary Garnett of the National Weather Service will conduct “Skywarn” training at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Whirlpool Corp., 4901 N. Main St.
The training will last about two hours. Pre-registration is not required.
Skywarn participants are volunteers who relay severe weather information to the National Weather Service during storms.
First responders and amateur radio operators are being encouraged to attend Monday. Trained weather spotters can renew their skills.
Topics to be covered will include how to identify severe weather, reporting to the National Weather Service, and weather safety.
No special equipment is required to participate in Skywarn.
