Man reports assault, attempted robbery

A man said he was attacked by two men who attempted to rob him late Friday on Findlay Street, Findlay police reported.
The man told police he was walking in the 800 block of Findlay Street about 10:38 p.m. Friday when he was “jumped” by a white male and a black male.
The black male was described as 6 feet tall with a stocky build, wearing a gray sleeveless shirt, with some hair on the chin.
The victim could not provide a description of the white male, police said.
The victim told police the men made an attempt to grab his wallet and he began to struggle with them. The black male removed a knife from the victim’s pants and attempted to cut him, the victim said.
The victim sustained superficial wounds from the knife, police reported. He was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco Ambulance, but did not appear to have life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police searched the area and did not locate the attackers.
The incident remains under investigation.
