The Blanchard River Watershed Partnership has received a grant for $14,678 from Great Lakes Sediment and Nutrient Reduction Program, through the Great Lakes Commission, to research improving the soil health through increased soil organics.
The two-year grant will include three farmers in the upper and lower Riley Creek watersheds. The goal is to increase the soil health by increasing the soil organic levels and reduce the phosphorus and sediment loadings from the fields.
