Police Department

Suspects fled following a Wednesday shoplifting excursion at Kohl’s department store.
Police apprehended petty thieves on Wednesday at Meijer.
Drunks were detained Wednesday on Front Street, in the 200 block of Crystal Avenue, and in the 800 block of Maple Avenue.
A wallet was taken from a vehicle Thursday at 521 W. Lincoln St.
An Avenue Cue customer, 1926 Tiffin Ave., on Thursday paid with a fake $20 bill. This was the patron’s third such offense there in the past month.
A warrant was served Thursday in the 1000 block of Putnam Street.

Sheriff’s Office

Raw meat was chucked onto the ground Monday at 2027 Hancock County 304, Ada.
Cash vanished July 19 from a purse at 8899 Portage Township 19.
Disorderly conduct charges are pending after a man answered nature’s call and urinated outside at Oakwoods Nature Preserve on July 24.
Blanchard River fishermen found a safe in the water on Saturday near Hancock County 86. Car keys were discovered inside.
Juveniles admitted egging two cars recently at 402 N. Joslyn St. and 111 N. Main St. in Arcadia.

From the public records of Hancock County Common Pleas Court:
Kristin McCasland, 33, of Forest, pleaded guilty to possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony. On Sept. 12 in Findlay, McCasland had less than 1 gram of heroin. Judge Joseph Niemeyer approved her placement into intervention in lieu of conviction.
Johnathan R. Howard, 29, of Findlay, pleaded guilty to a lesser fourth-degree felony charge of aggravated assault. Howard was charged with a second-degree felony count of assault for allegedly harming a man with a knife on Aug. 27 in Findlay. Judge Reginald Routson is scheduled to sentence him Sept. 24.
