Jan R. Vent Sleeper, 58, of rural Upper Sandusky, died at 1:24 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
Born January 29, 1956 in Kenton, she was the daughter of the late Dale F. and Miriam C. (Frey) Vent. She married Kermit L. Beekman on June 14, 1974 and the were divorced. On November 1, 1983 she married Wallace D. Sleeper in North Carolina. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2005. She is survived by her companion of eight years, Brad Young of rural Upper Sandusky.
Surviving are a son, Kori (Jennifer) Beekman of Chesapeake, VA, three grandchildren: Chase and Kameron Beekman of Upper Sandusky and Rylea Beekman of Chesapeake, VA, a step granddaughter, Alexis Green and a step-grandson, Dominic Jones, five siblings: Mike (Chris) Vent, Randy Vent, and Monte (Regina) Vent all of Upper Sandusky, Virginia (Jack) Luikhart and Andy (Wendy) Vent both of Forest, and a sister in-law, Bev Vent Lynch of Carey.
Preceding her in death were two brothers: Martin and Lee Vent.
She was a 1974 graduate of Riverdale High School and was affiliated with St. Mary’s Chapel in Kirby.
Jan was a nature lover. She simply enjoyed life, especially gardening, fishing and her dog, Max. She loved spending time with her family. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Chapel in Kirby, with Rev. J.R. Hadnagy OFM Conv. officiating. There will be no visitation. A private burial will be at a later date.
