Willis L. “Rusty” Acord Jr. joined his Lord & Saviour on Monday, May 26 after a courageous 7 month battle with leukemia. Rusty was born on March 13, 1957 to Opal Irene and Willis Acord, Sr.
Rusty was a Foreman at Cooper Tire & Rubber Company, where he worked for 38 years.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Sharon; daughters, Sabrina Kay, Lori Plumley, and Jodi (Robert) DeVore; sons, Christopher Ryan Kay and Koen Kay; father, Willis (Linda) Acord, Sr.; brothers, Randy Acord and Rick Acord; and 10 grandchildren; Matthew, Kali, Nick, Kadi, Kaci, Emily, Audrey, Austin, Koralyn, Kaiden. He is also survived by his closest friends, Max Miller and Kent Sizemore. Rusty was preceded in death by his mother Opal Irene Acord.
Visitation will be held at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. and 4:00-7:00 p.m. and for one hour (12:00-1:00 p.m.) Friday prior to the service. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Bishop Terry McBeath officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay.
