Betty June Brandt, age 81, of Findlay and formerly of West Liberty, died at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center. She was born on October 18, 1932 in Milton, WV to the late David Mark and Ruth (Carey) Harshbarger. She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School in West Virginia and received her undergraduate degree from Marshall University.
She married O. Jack Brandt on June 18, 1960 in West Virginia and he survives her. Also surviving are three children: Pastor Brad (Sherry) Brandt of Wheelersburg, Ohio; Lt. Col. Matthew (Karen) Brandt of Colorado Springs, CO and Dr. Jennifer (Jeff) Conner of Findlay; along with her beloved grandchildren, Julie; Katie; Logan; Marshall; Shelley; Drew and Elizabeth. Betty also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.
She was preceded in death by siblings: John and Catherine.
Betty was an educator, having taught school at West Liberty Salem, Dover and Strasburg-Franklin Tuscarawas County Schools for several years. She was a member of Grace Chapel Church in West Liberty, Ohio and had also attended Findlay Evangelical Free Church in the most recent years. Betty loved spending time with her family and entertaining at her home.
Betty claimed the promises of Christ and lived her life in that direction.
She believed in eternal life, by nothing but the grace of Christ, and nothing else!
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 at Findlay Evangelical Free Church, 2515 Heatherwood Drive, Findlay and for one hour prior to the service (10:00-11:00 a.m.) Saturday at Grace Chapel, 500 Linden Street, West Liberty, OH where the Memorial Service will commence at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014. Burial will follow in Huntsville Cemetery and her son, Pastor Bradley Brandt will officiate. Memorials may be made to Bridge Hospice, 15100 Birchaven Lane in her memory.
