Kraig D. Niswander, 47, of Findlay, passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was born on August 29, 1966 in Findlay to the late Terry F. and Frances K.(Swihart) Niswander. He married Lori J. Kuhlman on February 14, 1987 and she survives.
He is also survived by two sons: Austin D. and Grant D. Niswander both of Findlay; two brothers: Keith E. Niswander of Findlay and Kristoffer L. Niswander of Port Clinton; two nieces: Taylor and Courtney Niswander; a nephew, Cameron Niswander; four sisters-in-law and 18 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Niswander, whose wife Susan survives in Bowling Green.
Kraig worked as a pilot for Marathon Petroleum and had a passion for flying. He was the owner of Austin Grant’s Salon and Spa. He was heavily involved in the Findlay Trojan Club.
Kraig was deeply devoted to his wife and boys. He enjoyed attending his sons’ sporting events and taping them, gardening and cooking out with un-ordinarily spicy foods. He enjoyed spending time boating on Lake Erie.
He also loved his Dodge Challenger. Kraig was always helping others and offering a helping hand.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014 at the funeral home with visitation one hour (10:00-11:00 a.m.) prior to the service. Pastor Ben Borsay will officiate and interment will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Austin and Grant Niswander Fund in care of Old Fort Bank, Findlay. Online condolences may be made via www.coldrencrates.com. In honor of Kraig’s passion for his sons’ sports, the family has requested that people attending the funeral, dress in the Findlay Trojan or Toledo Rocket colors/apparel.
