VANLUE — Charles Raymond “Charlie” Flugga, 83 of Vanlue, passed away at 6:10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born on October 8, 1933 in Findlay to the late Harry S. and Maudie (Bosworth) Flugga. On October 31, 1953 in Aburn, IN, he married Helen J. Howard and she preceded him in death on April 16, 2016.
Charlie is survived by his son, Danny Eugene (Amber) Flugga of Findlay; daughter, Theresa Caudill of Vanlue; brother, William Flugga of Findlay; sisters, Carolyn Margraf of Arcadia and Mary Shearer of Findlay; four grandchildren, Heather (Jason) Parkins, Danielle (Adam) Gelbaugh, Noah Flugga and Codie (Terry) Quickle; five great-grandchildren, Chloe Gelbaugh, Mallory Parkins, Brooklin Gelbaugh, Riley Parkins and Gaige Quickle. Charlie is preceded in death by his son, John Flugga; brothers, Floyd Flugga, Harry Flugga, Jr., Don Flugga and Kenneth Flugga; sisters, Ruth Ann Parker and Kathryn Davis.
Charlie worked for 43 years at Findlay Body Repair doing body work and painting. He loved country music from the 50s-70s, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians and even the Cleveland Browns. He rooted for Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Sr. in NASCAR. He enjoyed having his family home on Saturdays where everyone helped planting gardens. He also liked tinkering with cars or something in the garage, taking Sunday drives or just sitting watching the world go by. He loved being outside feeding the birds and his Quaker parrot, named Jake.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Michael Spann officiating. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery.
